Operating formally changes everything.

Legal Protection

A registered business separates your personal assets from business liabilities. For LLCs especially, this protection is significant and often critical.

Credibility & Trust

Clients, suppliers, and banks treat registered businesses differently. A registration certificate signals seriousness, stability, and accountability.

Banking & Financing

Open a business bank account, apply for business loans, and access government grants — all of which require a registered business entity.

Invoice & Contract

Issue official invoices under your business name, enter contracts, and enforce agreements legally — none of which informal operations can do reliably.

Scale With Confidence

Investors, partners, and corporate clients require legal entities. Registration is the foundation for every serious growth trajectory.

Tax Compliance

Registered businesses can claim legitimate deductions, pay BIR properly, and avoid the penalties that informal operators face during tax audits.

Managing rental property? Register the right way.

New T&T rental income requirements and property tax obligations make a registered company the smartest structure for landlords.

Landlords earning rental income in Trinidad & Tobago are required to declare that income to BIR. Holding your rental property inside a registered LLC or Sole Trader entity creates a clear, auditable structure for tax filings — and separates your personal assets from any tenant disputes or liabilities.

Personal asset protection if a tenant takes legal action
Clear BIR structure for rental income declarations
Deductible maintenance, insurance, and management costs
One registered entity for multiple properties as you grow
Business bank account for all rental income and expenses

Recommended: LLC for Landlords

An LLC is the strongest structure for rental property — full asset separation, a dedicated company bank account, and the cleanest entity for BIR rental income compliance. It scales as you add properties to your portfolio.

You need a CRA PIN before you can register a business.

A CRA (Computerised Registration Application) PIN from CROS is required for every business registration in Trinidad & Tobago. If you don’t have one yet, Scorpius F.A.R.M.S. can handle the entire CROS registration process on your behalf — from TT$0 for self-serve to TT$250 for full-service.

Common questions answered.

Typical processing time is 7–14 business days from submission of complete documentation. Breakdown: Days 1–2 for name search and approval; Days 3–7 for document preparation and filing; Days 8–14 for Companies Registry processing and certificate issuance. Yes. A CRA (Computerised Registration Application) PIN from CROS is required for all business registrations in T&T. If you don't have one yet, visit cros.gov.tt or read our CRA guide. We also provide guidance during the wizard and can assist with your CRA application as part of our service.
In Trinidad & Tobago you can register: Sole Trader (one individual, simple and fast); Partnership (two or more persons sharing profits and liability); Limited Liability Company or LLC (separate legal entity with liability protection, best for serious ventures); Non-Profit Organisation (for charitable, religious, or educational purposes); and External Company (a foreign company registering to operate in T&T). AdVentureSphere handles Sole Traders, Partnerships, and LLCs. For NPOs and External Companies, contact us directly.
A Sole Trader has no legal separation between you and the business — you are personally liable for all debts and obligations. An LLC is a separate legal entity; your personal assets are protected from business liabilities. For serious ventures with meaningful financial exposure, an LLC provides significantly more protection and credibility with banks, investors, and clients.
Yes, but restrictions apply. For LLCs, foreign shareholders can hold up to 40% of shares — majority ownership (60%+) must be held by T&T nationals, and at least one director must be a T&T national. For Sole Traders and Partnerships, a valid work permit or residency status is typically required. Contact us before starting the wizard if you are a non-citizen.
Yes. The entire process with AdVentureSphere is digital: business name reservation, form completion, document upload, payment, and certificate delivery — all handled online. You do not need to visit any government office. We manage all CROS filings on your behalf.
For a Sole Trader Basic package: AdVentureSphere service fee + TT$220 government registration fee + TT$25 name search = total shown in the wizard. For an LLC Basic package: AdVentureSphere service fee + TT$585 government fees (Articles, Notices of Address, Directors, Secretary, Certificate) + TT$25 name search = total shown in the wizard. All amounts are shown transparently in the pricing section and confirmed before payment.
That's why we ask for 3 name choices. If your first choice is taken, we proceed with your second or third. All names are checked at the official T&T Companies Registry portal. Name reservations are valid for 3 months — if not used within this period, the reservation expires. We recommend verifying names yourself at rgd.legalaffairs.gov.tt before the wizard.
Government fees are listed separately and transparently. They are paid to the T&T Companies Registry and cannot be waived. Our service fee covers all preparation, coordination, and submission on your behalf.
We accept PayPal (online), bank transfer, cash, and cheque. Scorpius F.A.R.M.S. can also invoice corporate clients directly for B2B arrangements.
Yes. You can submit the wizard on behalf of a business owner. You will need their CRA PIN, identification documents, and signed authorisation. Contact us for Power of Attorney arrangements.
